I'm observing Lent for the first time. I'm observing it from the sidelines. No, I've been reading about it and I'm gonna do it this year. I'm intrigued about omitting a diversion for a few weeks to be more conscious of my sallow, lurid heart when I am normally distracting myself. Plus you can engage in the omitted distraction on Sundays because Sunday stands for redemption and stuff. So I can slam heroin at least once a week during Lent, whew. Our friend John gave this talk about Lent last night and I liked it. On the bus ride this morning I was sandwiched between a bunch of withdrawing homeless people who were twitching. That wasn't so bad until they all started sneezing. Then suddenly it smelled like an alley behind an Indian restaurant one dove across me and opened the window and said "Someone got some foul odor goin' in here!" Harrowing. Ooo, Borderline just came on the radio.
